Today is #MOTIVATIONMONDAY and it is also the day we celebrate the noble, intelligent, and brilliant man of God, peace, and equality, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr! His legacy lives on forever as he pioneered the civil rights movement and inspired many leaders of all colors. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, and was the youngest person awarded that since 1901. Dr.King is famously known for his "I Have A Dream" speech. This speech was more than a compilation of words but a turning point in history and the ultimate motivation and wake up call that a vision of equality is what America needs the most, his words still ring true and we could all learn from his example.

Below is a story from "Yolanda King", daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King, giving insight into the man that was Dr. King, the activist, the father, the preacher, the orator, the citizen, and the legend. Yolanda King explains the moment she finally understood her father's fight for freedom and what it all meant.
Something as simple as going to "Funtown" was her revelation to the injustices of the world and how her father played one of the most significant roles in fighting not only for her freedom, but freedom for all African Americans.
This is from "Chicken Soup for the African American Soul" 2004 edition.

On the behalf of all the little girls of color #Primpgirl rescues everyday we would like to say "THANK YOU DR.KING"
This is #Primpgirl's favorite excerpt from Dr.King's famous "I Have a Dream" speech during the March on Washington on August 28, 1963, in which he calls for an end to racism in the United States and called for civil and economic rights. This excerpt is called "FunTown", and it details Dr. King explaining the wickedness of segregation to his baby girl, Yolanda King, to call for equality for all little children despite their skin color. Take a listen as we commemorate the man and legacy that is Dr. Martin Luther King!
Take the time today to think about what you can do to make a change in your community, your neighborhood, your heart, and even the impact you could make on the world! There is no better #MOTIVATION than the example set forth by Dr. Martin L. King Jr.
