Let this be the first post of many about the excellence that is dare I say, one of the greatest Marvel movies of all time, and one of the best films I've ever seen!!

The combination of great action, beautiful representation, equality among men and women in power, an impeccable cast, and the beauty of the fictional (we wish it was real!!) Kingdom of Wakanda make for one of the most memorable movies of all time.

It couldn't have debuted at a better time in Black History Month. Its also the best selling Marvel Movie to date based on opening weekend numbers. Now that's what I call iconic!

As of recently, it just broke 1 billion at the box office! If you haven't seen this..what are you waiting for?? I've saw it three times already and would go two more times! SPOILER ALERT!! Here is a recap of some of the best lines in the film to celebrate 1 billion at the box office!!
This film made us laugh, cry, and jump with anxiousness and excitement. One of the funniest lines in the film was by far by Erik Killmonger, casted by Michael B. Jordan. Just to add this in, he should def keep that hairstyle lol.
"Heeeey Auntie."
- Erik Killmonger

This is a big shout out to the queen of clap-backs and our favorite Disney princess! None other than Princess Shuri. She had some of the greatest lines in the film. Not to mention, she is one of my favorite characters!

She couldn't help but tease her brother about his foot gear and we loved every bit of it!
"WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOOSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!" - Princess Shuri
She easily had one of the most memorable lines when the colonizer ally, Ross, showed up at Wakanda.

"Oh yay you brought another broken white boy for me to fix!" - Princess Shuri
Let's not forget her smart remarks during the tribal challenge ceremony! It had me and my family ROFL!
"This corset is itching, can we please hurry this up! *claps hands* - Princess Shuri
Another round of memorable quotes as well as a hilarious one comes from one of our favorite characters, M'Baku, as he reprimands the colonizer!! The fierce warrior whom was once a challenger became an ally for the love of Wakanda!
"If you speak again I will feed you to my kids!! Just kidding, we are vegetarians."
- M'Baku

*bark noises and beats stick* "YOU DO NOT SPEAK COLONIZER!" - M'Baku

My family and I thought the Que dogs were coming when we heard this one. M'Baku's canter is even catching on in real life! #WoofWoofinWakanda
Moving on to some more serious quotes, this one may have went over a few heads. Queen Ramonda, casted by Angela Basset, had to remind her son who he was so he can win the challenge. When momma tells you to get em... you must get em!
"Show him who you are!!" - Queen Ramonda
This next quote really struck a nerve with me! It not only showcased a love for the Kingdom of Wakanda but, it showed respect for women in power as well. The way women were portrayed in this film is phenomenal and these memorable lines confirm just that!
"Would you really kill me my love" - Wakabi

"For Wakanda, NO QUESTION!!" - Okoye
This line may have went over some people's heads but, this African Proverb still remains wise and true. Building bridges is better than building barriers. I think T'Challa realized the very essence of this at the end of the film when he returns to Oakland to build a STEM foundation to help the youth.

"The wise build bridges
while fools build barriers." - T'Challa
Another quote that may have went unnoticed was from T'Chaka! As King T'Challa visits his father in the ancestral plane and airs his grievances with the former king his father states this line.
It is hard for a good man to be king - King T'Chaka (T'Challa father)
This line reigns true for so many reasons as it does not mean T'Challa will not be a good king but rather foreshadows the challenges of someone with a good heart ruling a kingdom and having to make difficult decisions. Black Panther handled himself quite well on the throne but, his character definitely makes him stand out as a great leader as well as a great superhero.
This line was powerful! In this very quote, we see all that Wakanda has to offer and how they could be an asset to its people all over the world. Sterling K. Brown, though his part was small, his lines were impactful. This line really made me want to go to #WAKANDA!
With vibranium weapons they can overthrow their governments and fight back and Wakanda could rule them all... THE RIGHT WAY - N'Jobu
(King T'Chaka's brother, Killmonger's father)
"You were wrong!!! All of you were wrong....I cannot rest while he is on the throne, he is a monster of our own making." - T'challa

This line gave me goosebumps! Just when we thought Black Panther had been murdered by Killmonger he comes back alive! In his second visit to the ancestral plane he tells his father, T'Chaka, that he was wrong to leave Killmonger behind and how they must right their wrongs. This shows just how good of a leader and true king T'Challa is!
In a final tribute to Black Panther and its most memorable lines this next section is dedicated to Erik Killmonger and all his antagonistic glory! He was definitely one of my favorite characters. Though his tactics were radical and evil his plight was one African Americans could definitely resonate with. Being foreign in your own home and wanting to bring justice to your people and take down your oppressors... we feel you Killmonger!
Killmonger's opening scene was definitely entertaining and kept us on the edge of our seats. Although, it was his lines at the end that really made you say.... Killmonger is not here to play games!! Love this fanart too!

Erik Killmonger: “Now tell me about this one.” Museum guide: “Also from Benin, 7th century, Fula tribe I believe.” Erik Killmonger: “Nah.” Museum guide: “I beg your pardon?” Erik Killmonger: “It was taken by British soldiers in Benin, but it’s from Wakanda, and it’s made outta vibranium.” Museum guide: (confused look) Erik Killmonger: (Laughs) Don’t trip, imma take it off your hands for you.” Museum attendant: “These items are not for sale.” Erik Killmonger: “How do you think your Ancestors got these? You think they paid a fair price? Or did they take it like they took everything else?”
Everybody dies its just life around here. - Killmonger as a child
This small line was a bit of a tear jerker for me. Young Killmonger states this after his father ask him why there are no tears for him in the ancestral plane. This displays the reality of many of our youth in urban communities and gives perspective to Killmonger's attitude and motives throughout the film.
Another tear jerker, this line really show how the death of Killmonger's father affected him for years to come. This also highlights the prominent affect a father has just from being a positive figure in his son's life. Perhaps killmonger's tactics would have been less radical if the world had been kinder to him?

The world took everything from me... everything i love!!! - Killmonger
I had to save the best for last with the most memorable quote of the film and of the century! I felt this line within my soul as Killmonger expresses the sentiments of the African American plight and accepts his defeat with this as his last line.

It's safe to say we give this movie 12 stars and then some! The impact on representation is about to be immense and will make way for superheroes like #Primpgirl in the near future!
